The Realistic Healthy Thinking

The realistic healthy thinking is a “ in the moment” boost to our mental health and wellness. Having a healthy, more realistic thought is a way for people to maintain their self care and focus.

With A realistic healthy way of thinking you are looking at all angles of the situation. Which are the positive, negative and the neutral parts of the situation.

Steps for a realistic way of thinking.

STEP#1 Monitor Self Talk

Build your self esteem up by saying positive comments. You are your own coach. Some examples of positive self-talk: ‘I can do it. ‘ ‘I’m good enough. ‘ ‘If I want to, I can. ‘ ‘It doesn’t matter if I make a mistake.

STEP#2 Identify Thoughts That Are Not Helpful

Recognize the thoughts that are opposite of the ones that give you positive vibes through the day. Pay attention to our emotions they can be a sign of negative thoughts.

STEP#3 Challenge Your Unhelpful Thought

Question the unhelpful, negative thoughts that come to mind. Why am I having these kinds of thoughts? Take a pause and listen for a moment. Try mediation and deep breathing to clear your mind of these thoughts.

STEP#4 Substitute Realistic Thoughts

When negative thoughts enter your mind, replace them with realistic thinking. Think positive thoughts. When you are mediating you can replace the negative thoughts with positive ones.

STEP #5 REPEAT!!
